Design is at a crossroads. Not for the first time. As designers, there were shifts in our roles and responsibilities. This time it is similar, yet very different.

Every year at UXWell, a professional accelerator for designers, we're iterating what we teach from our craft. And after 11 years, we made the biggest change yet. We dropped the "UX" from the name of our program. Not because user experience is dead. But because we can finally use our skills and AI to deliver real product outcomes — not just insights or design artefacts.

As a designer, early adopter and experimenter, I've been playing with AI from the very beginning. Recently, AI crossed a line. After I got through the first part of the process, it designed the UI of a complex enterprise app — without me touching Figma.
