The Story of How Everyone Started Doing Research and What Happened After by Karolína Šafaříková and Honza Kaláb What starts as a common challenge, like a lack of resources, can lead to unexpected adventures. Recently, we faced a situation where we needed to pivot our product but had limited data on our new users. In this storytelling session, we’ll share how we transformed our approach by making user research and testing a collaborative effort across our teams. How can we effectively distribute essential knowledge? Is this strategy applicable to all teams? And are developers open to engaging in activities outside their traditional roles? Join us as we explore these questions from both the developer and designer perspectives, revealing insights that can inspire your own collaborative practices.

About speakers: Karolína is a senior designer with a special passion for design of complex products, workshop facilitation and knowledge sharing. She has been practicing the latter for several years also in the non-profit organization Czechitas. Honza is a software developer at Y Soft, recently focusing more on front-end development and with an interest in UX design. Together with two teams, he is working on a new application where user input is essential to designing an effective user interface.

Hands-on review: when developers take charge of user feedback by Yveta Londa In most companies, (UX) designers are accountable for defining a good experience. At Y Soft, we are exploring how to share this responsibility with everyone. Developers are in charge of inviting relevant product users in the process. They let them play with what is "in progress" to get early feedback. How does it work? What can go wrong? Are developers capable of getting relevant feedback from users? We will happily share our recent experience with experimental "hands on" reviews.

About the speaker:

Yveta is a designer focused on enablement and the relationship between design and business. She has worked as a UX/CX designer in both R&D and Product Management team, finding fulfillment in both.
